Going to check out a craigslist T56, what should I look for?
Hey all,
I found a smokin' deal on a T56 on craigslist last night for my swap, and I'm swinging by this evening after work to check it out, but I know very little about transmissions. It's from a 2000 Camaro SS, has 163k miles on it, and it's being sold because the car was in a wreck and being parted out. Owner says it's still driveable and I can see it work.
I'll be getting it rebuilt for sure if I buy it, but is there anything in particular I should look out for? Sounds, smells, feel? My daily driver right now is a 5 speed Cavalier and I've driven stick for 5 years, so I'm comfortable taking it around and testing it.
Also, for you swap gurus out there, is there anything else I should try to get off the car, transmission-related?
