Default T56 part hunt

my brother needs an input shaft for his 98 Z28. are there any sponsers on here that have this part. was told they have been on national backorder since Nov 2011, is this true? if so, looking for a used one. Are the LT1 T56 and LS1 T56 input shafts the same?

Not the same. Yes they are hard to find new and cost arms and legs. Find a used one on fleabay.

They are on backorder as GM stop production of the input shaft temporarily, however from my understanding i believe they have start production back up, but still looking at about 3-4 weeks backorder.

There is an alternative solution.... Find an lt1 shaft and send it to tdp and have it lengthened.
