Not another Viper T56 to LS topic
Yes I have searched
https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...onversion.html
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/235390...-malibu/page-7
... and other topics
I have a T56 out of a '97 Viper and understand that I can swap out or machine down the Input shaft down to LS1 specs and swap the LS1 front plate on so that the slave is clocked in the correct location to use a F-body bell housing or Quicktime 8020 scatter shield
However, Quicktime offers the 6038 for a Viper T56 to LS motor and the height is 6.322'' vs. 5.555" for the 8020.
My questions are:
Which slave would be used with the 6038?
Would the input shaft have to be machined?
Does the Viper front plate have the correct clocking for the slave?

Yes. Regaurdless what you do you will need to machine the pilot surface of the input shaft. To machine the input shaft the mid plate will have to be removed. Either way you are going to spend a decent amount of money.
You will have roughly $100.00 in machining the input and $550.00 in an RM-6038, with this option you will need to run the Viper slave cylinder/TOB.
With Tremecs new inflated prices you will have ~$250.00 in a midplate, ~$300.00 in an input shaft, ~$275.00 in a bellhousing (unless you can find a deal on a used one) and around $150.00 for a new GM f-body slave cylinder/TOB.
xx__ED__xx, the RM-6038 works fine in this application because of the trans mounted shifter. The 5th gen Camaro guys are having problems because their shifter is divorced and bolts to the floor of the car. With the different blocking the shifter doesn't fit or function correctly.
