Default Just installed LS7 clutch kit, pedal soft

I just installed a new LS7 clutch kit to my 2001 LS1. I measured the distance between the pressure plate fingers and the compressed height of the slave cylinder and got a measurement of .295". I'm using all new stock hydraulics and after bleeding the system, the clutch pedal won't return fully. Do I need to install a shim behind the slave cylinder? And how do I find the correct spacing for a LS7 set up?

Thanks.

Did you space/shim out the slave?

No, I did not install a shim or spacer. I couldn't find specs anywhere and some people said the LS7 didn't need it. I called GM and they don't have records for my car. WTF?
