Exclamation Viper T56 VSS to Autometer programmable Speedometer

Ok so I am posting this because I have been beating my head against a wall for two weeks trying to get the viper vss to run the autometer speedometer/summit brand speedometer and
finally I found the answer , but it was far from an easy find . I hope this makes it easier on someone else in the future .

So the viper vss has 3 wires, it is a hall effect type sender

the diagrams from dodge are WRONG the sensor will only produce .2V in that configuration which is not enough to run the speedo.

I finally found somewhere where a person found the sensor straight from the Honeywell catalog where dodge bought it.

http://linuxfan.org/~ipdown/mybrick/...e/1GT101DC.pdf

on this pdf you can see how the factory who made it meant for it to be used.

if you are holding the sensor with the mounting tab down
the wire on the left is your 12V input
the center wire is your signal wire
wire on the right is ground

Fuse the sensor with a 1A or 1.5A fuse if available

this is the model number if anyone wants to get one or ask honeywell anything: 1GT101DC GT Series Hall-Effect Gear-Tooth Sensor

GOODLUCK!
