Just got my first ls1 (2000 T/A). 80 k miles and all is well so far except an annoying whine when driving in 6th gear. Is this normal or is it a particular "symptom" that I should be concerned about? It is most apparrent around 65 to 75 mph. Any remedies other that taking out transmission?

Are you sure it's the transmission? Could possibly be the rearend whining, especially at those speeds when you have less load. At those speeds does it whine when you step on the gas or when you let off the gas?

Thanks for imput fellows! The whine is in the transmission I did put some Lucas Synthetic in it and it actually helped considerably. May not last long but so good for now!
