Default Re-using a clutch?

I have a clutch that I want to put on a different engine. It only has 500-750 miles on it. Do I need to use it with the same flywheel, or can I use it with one with a fresh surface? I would like to keep the flywheel with the engine it came off of for balancing purposes.

a fresh flywheel surface requires a fresh pressure plate surface.
a fresh pressure plate surface requires a fresh flywheel surface.

Since it has a few hundred miles on it, use it with the same flywheel or have both FW & PP you'll use machined.

with so little miles you should be able to swap the used clutch over to a new FW. Since the disc and PP have already seated that part should not be a issue.

Agreed: Shouldn't be an issue with the mileage. I once had a 2000 mile pressure plate resurfaced, with a resurfaced used flywheel and a new clutch disc. That was a smooth *** clutch.
