Lost 5th and 6th Tore my T56 Down: Opinions Needed
So lost 5 and 6 while driving. Tore it down to find the output shaft splines toasted as well as the 5 and 6 gear splines wiped. Rest of the tranny looks good but the reverse syncro is started to show wear which i knew would be an issue when i opened her up. My question for everyone is this fairly common on a higher mileage trans and should i stick stock parts back in it. Its behind a 380-400rwhp LT1.
Just want some opinions from people that have had this issue and what they would recommend.

Well got her back together last night and did some prevenative maintenance and shes back together. Hope to get it back in the car this week!
Replaced:
1-2 Syncro
3-4 Syncro
Reverse Syncro
5-6 Driven Gear Cluster
Main Output Shaft
Pocket Bearing and Race on Output Shaft
Replaced:
1-2 Syncro
3-4 Syncro
Reverse Syncro
5-6 Driven Gear Cluster
Main Output Shaft
Pocket Bearing and Race on Output Shaft
