Default Super custom special t56 cradle tool

Ok, so I built this last winter for uninstalling / installing t56's, because I got tired of almost dying when using a regular jack, and didnt want to buy or borrow a trans jack.

Its awesome! Completely takes the headache out of pulling the trans.

I offset the hole so that it was centered with the weight of the tranny.

Hope this helps someone else as much as it has me!

thats nice, but how you gona get that under the car?

what us little weak MFs, dont like the one handed curl (attempting to) the input shaft under the car. And use your other arm and leg to slide the jack under it. Not smash your dick. And drag the trans up it, to the jack pad. Thats always so fun to do with you 2,300 new trans.

Well generally you have the car in the air for a trans job...........

That jack is only 3.5", so add that to the height of the trans, and boom you have to have the rockers like 16" off the ground, which is a lot lower than I generally have it when I'm doing anything serious.

I use the HF trans jack. (low scissor jack platform) I covered the top with 3/4 wood (and the V) the trans fit in it great, not gona fall off, and it fits in the V perfect. Easy to use alone.

Thats nice, I like it, mine was a little more shade tree.

I had an old mitre box kicking around, drilled a hole and bolted her on, grabbed a tie strap and we were good.

More pics of the install.

I only needed the wife for less that 5 minutes on the jack handle. Also found that leaving the trans in 4th with a yoke on the rear made the alingment very easy. No hammers, shaking, nothing. I did use a small hand clamp to draw them together, shown in the pictures.
