Default High clutch pedal?

Just replaced the clutch in a friends 2000 T/A. It had a spec stage 1 in it, replaced with stage 2. It already had a tick master cylinder, i put a new slave cylinder and tick remote bleeder in it. The clutch engages fine, but the pedal is really high where it engages. I could adjust the master, but it just moves the location of the pedal, doesnt change the fact that the engagement is at the top of the travel. We did not use the spacer behind the slave, that would only make things worse.
The pedal was high before we replaced the clutch, so it isnt anything caused by the install.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I saw someone else asking about this in another thread. Few people said it was normal. I have a Tick Master and no matter where I adjust the pedal, just like you, the engagement is always at the top of the pedal.

Ok, thanks. I have a spec 3 in my lt1 and it feels completely different. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something.

Generally speaking engagement will be slightly above mid-pedal. That being said, did you replace the entire assembly or just the disc?

I put the complete assy in it and had the flywheel turned when it was apart. It seems to apply ok, just much higher than what I am used to.

What were your measurements when checking for the need of the shim?
