Default Hays clutchs are junk!!!

Well I had a hays clutch in my car for about 900miles and it's almost down to the revits . Last Friday at the track my clutch slipped really hard in third and fourth. Backdrop on car stock head car, cam single plane moser9 456 gear 28 10.5 slicks and some spary. But the pass it slipped on was a na pass. Customer service was poor telling me out of warranty and I just need to buy a new clutch which I've got a centerforce dfx coming.
I've recommend this clutch to a lot of ppl and now wished I hadn't . Just word of advise stay away from hays clutches if u have slicks and makin over 400 hp...... They might be ok for older cars but there ls clutches at JUNK!

Following is my response assuming you are using the Hays OEM spec clutch since you did not specify model.

What did you expect from a OEM spec replacement clutch that sees track use with engine mods, gears, slicks and spray. Duh.

than I would suspect the CF DF clutch will not hold up to your use also.

Might want to consider a full face disc like the SPEC 3+ or a Twin disc clutch

ouch. Id suggest calling up Monster Clutch directly and tell them about your crap experience, they might be able to help you get what you need. I had a ram twin disk clutch that only made it 1000 miles with only 430rw going to it. After a few track days that clutch was DONE. Over priced POS, it sucks being out money on new parts.

I totally agree with bmxer8699. Monster clutches are the way to go. I have the package from Tick with clutch, 18lb flywheel, and Tick master. It's an excellent clutch, great fitment, and awesome customer service. I have about 2,000 miles on it and I'm not easy on it by any means. No issues here!

idk if I would call that hays clutch junk. It worked really well, and I sure would think it had more than 900 miles under its belt. it let you flat foot shift it 7k+ many times.

and lets not get on the monster clutch band wagon, He has a perfectly good clutch on its way.

So yes, I DONT agree monster clutches are the way to go. no need to beat a dead horse.........
