Clutch Problems
Ok here is the problem. A buddy of mine was having issues with the clutch. Did some research and decided that it had to be the master cylinder. Replaced it and bleed the system. Still same problem. So we deciced to pull the trans. found the problem, it was in pieces ( Advanced Auto Hous Brand ). Clutch was just put in a year or so ago car maybe has 5000 miles on it.
The car is a daily driver only mods are LT's and exhaust. Need to buy a new complete setup what would ya'll recommend? May do heads and cam in the future.

problem with so many chain auto part stores "house brand" clutches is they are China crap. yeah the $ is good but they are just cheap made.
McLeod, Monster, SPEC all make a good clutch, some have their favorites. Any base level clutch from one of those for a stock car would be fine.
get the flywheel resurfaced or replace it.

the LS7 has a lot of good reviews, but it still uses the GM self-adjusting pressure plate...it's also heavier than stock, whereas the Monster with lightweight flywheel will save you a couple pounds and therefore allow a little more power to the wheels...either one should work nice, but I went with Monster for these reasons..no regrets

We went with a new complete LS7 setup. We also replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. We also done the drill mod on the hose as well. Bleeding the MC was a PITA, to me there is still not a good petal. But the clutch engages nicely acording to the owner. He's happy so I guess I am as well.
