Default T56 Rebuild!

Hey guys, I was having some issues with my car shifting and making some grinding noises when my car shuts off from the bellhousing area and decided to pull the trans out and go for a rebuild. Now the question I have is, who and were are some good vendors out there, who are reputable? Btw I want it to build it stronger than how it came stock. Thanks for the input guys!

RPM or Tick would be both of my recommendations if nobody local. I'm planning on using Tick, and they're relatively local to me (3 hours) but also have free shipping and a limited warranty for a year. Their level 2 is only a little more than $1500 with new bearings and that's what I'm planning on doing.

Thanks for the response! A year warranty on a transmission is very appealing, but just wanted to see what else is out there. Tick will most likely be who I will go with.

Are you from Austin? I got my transmission rebuilt by a popular guy named "the source". Hes out of San Antonio. You should be able to find him here. Good luck.

Tick, RPM and thegearbox(if you want to do it yourself) are all great. I used all three when I rebuilt my Trans. RPM does a mod to the mainshaft to thicken it up a couple thousands so the 5/6 driven gear won't waer loose and eat the splines.

My trans had maybe 30% of the spline material remaining before the rebuild.
