Default WS6 Clutch / Shifting issues

hello, I recently bought a 2000 ws6 to use as a project car. The kid I bought it from told me the clutch needed to be replaced, and after i drove the car i could tell. Over 3500rpm the clutch starts to slip, also the pedal goes down to the floor and catches right off the floor. when stopped first gear is hard to get into.... Would buying a new clutch and master cylinder be a good bet to cure this car? also I am picking up a eaton carrier.

If it is hard to get into gear then it could be the master having a blow by issue, but it's weird for it to have a disengagement issue and slipping. Has the car been sitting for a while, as that cause cause the seals to go bad, is it leaking anything? I'd start with a new clutch first though and see if that cures your problem as the master can be swapped after the fact without any additional labor. How much power is the car making, stock clutch?

Be sure to read all the other threads on GM vs. other slave cylinders, if you replace that, as well.

The best way to insure that you address the problem is to pull the trans and examine all the parts. It seems that you are having issues with both the clutch and the hydraulics. And, if it's time for a new clutch then it's also best to replace the slave and the master to avoid doing this all again sooner than you'd like.

I suggest changing the master cylinder to a tick unit and change ur fluids and see if it fix the problem. If not then ill would replace the slave and clutch

I would highly recommend doing it while in there if not getting it tuned out.
