Heavy duty transmission ls6

Wow...A manual to hold that much torque. I would venture to guess a worked over T56 Magnum. After that, I suspect you will be limited on options. Either a non OD tranny or an auto.

Best....again, options.
It's a conversion, so you arent tied to a particular fitment other than bolting to an LS engine. On that basis, some of the newer T56 Magnum's would probably be best bang for buck.
Just choose whichever fitment suits best as far as stick position and gear ratios.

Being a Supra, I think they use a relatively short rear diff...that will make life easier on the trans anyway
Just be sure and get the shorter gearset with the 0.63 6th gear
Probably the 2.66 to 0.63 would be best
Although I think your torque goals or expectations are a little high for a drag car. I'd aim for more/wider rpm's and less torque
RPM Transmissions, Tick Performance, etc etc
You could go and have something fancy built....but there really wouldnt be much point.

OP....just a question, why such a high HP power goal for drifting even in a Supra chassis? I have seen Supras thrashing around with much lower HP then what you are after...hence my question.

Most of the big drift cars over this side of the pond, 800-1000hp would be right at the upper limit of the top cars. And they would not have similar torque, as they are high revving screamers.
By all means aim for 8-900hp, but I'd say less torque, and aim for as wide an operating rpm range as possible
