I thought Mike advised the SSR VSS was press-fit. I can't say I've torn down an OEM SSR trans; source rings from a hardware / fastener source.
If you don't buy a whole kit, source snapring 84 from your core or any T56 / TR6060. It's under $7 from Mopar dealers.
The Z06 has 2 OEM inspection cover bolts that are black and have thread-forming threads (3-sided) which will form threads in the SSR tailhousing after it's milled.

I'm talking about the actual sensor, not the tone ring.
Can't seem to navigate rock auto well enough to figure out which sensor is correct.
The one in my other truck looks like what rock auto has listed for the auto trans. Maybe they are the same?
I'd rather order a bottoming tap for the holes. I'll do some more searching for thread dia and pitch.
I ordered an entire snap ring kit for a corvette. Hopefully I did correct.
Also got the bolt I broke and some plugs and stuff.
I've seen a big rubber stopper seal looking deal on some trans that looks to be the last item on the main shaft before the tailhouse gets dropped on. I don't have this... Do I need it?

Rock Auto won't list it. There are a lot of those sensors that are darn similar. Get the working distance correct and you're good.
I suggested those bolts as a forming tap from having done it both ways.
Units shipped new to the OEM include fluid and a one-time use output seal; it is unneeded.

thegearbox is screwing me on getting my parts shipped. I ordered stuff Monday but won't have it until next Wednesday. Lame.
anyways. did manage to get reverse shimed out. took .110" of shim to have a little endplay to it. At .100" it had no end play, so I just added another .010 shim to it will be sure to get lubed.
my brother also came through and machined me a skip shift delete. better than paying what Tick wants.

no I had to replace. There are many good used ones around.
The 'final' parts needed for my build finally came in yesterday, but the bearing and race they sent were wrong. Crap.
So I'm literally waiting for one race for the tail housing and I can bolt it up and be done.
I really appreciate everyone's help.

tailhouse is on. Should button up the remaining things and clean my tools tonight. I'm hoping to snag a stock shifter from a member here to use to function test everything. In a year or so when the car is on the road I will get a MGW or similar.
