Default WTF clutch???

So I moved my 01 SS out of the garage yesterday (30 feet) and it was fine. Started it to back it in last night and it lunged like I dumped the clutch. But since my foot was on the brake, it killed itself. The clutch is not disengaging for some reason even though it was working just fine. The car has a tick adjustable master cylinder, stock clutch and only 30k on the clock. The tick only has about 1000 miles on it. It is like something just gave out. Slave cylinder?

So I finally got it pushed back in the garage, all up hill. And found a puddle of brake fluid under the bell housing. So I'm guessing the slave blew out. Any way of confirming? I'm also guessing the tranny ha to come out to change it? If so what's the best approach?

Sounds like that is the case, so there is no resistance on the clutch pedal? Also curious where your clutch pedal is adjusted to in relation to the brake pedal?

No resistance. Just a puddle every time I push the pedal down. As for pedal location, The pedal is about even or a touch higher than the brake pedal. So probably overextended the slave?

Doesn't sound like you did as you can go ~1" higher, though it's obviously done for. Keep me up to date, Chris

Looks like it's going to sit in the garage for a whiletill I get the funds. Might as well upgrade the clutch while the transmission is out. Now the choice of Monster or LS7. Just a cam and exhaust car with 385 rwt. It might see heads and a bigger cam next summer but that I probably the most it will ever see. Suggestions?

A Level 1 would get you taken care of currently, but a Level 2 would give you room to grow. Have you upgraded the rearend yet?

That's pretty much what I was thinking. It still has the original rear end in it with stock gears. It might get a 12 bolt but it will be a while. Hard to justify the money for one considering it has had 1000 miles on it in 3 years.

Lol. Nope. It has been to the track a handful of times since I've owned it (8 years). And I was hoping to make it this year at least once. Went to Jegs and bought a new helmet so I could pass tech in but life didn't allow for it this year. Maybe next year. Just running BF Goodrich KDW's all around now but if the 10 bolt pops then it will get some drag radials with a 12 bolt. But again... No rush.
