stroker nitrous 6-speed guys... gears
What gears are you running? I'm going back to a T56 and I used to run 4.11's and 28" tires with my 402ci LS2 and 150 shot. The car went a few 10.30's @ 135-136 back in the day but I've been spraying 200 the past few years with the auto setup and 3.50's.
Basically debating between 3.89's or 4.11s again in my 9". I think the car is gonna trap about 140 or so and 4.11's are gonna put me right at redline (6900) where the 3.89s would be about 6500-6600.
I'm guessing the 3.89s would probably be the better choice with nitrous.
Thoughts/comments?

I guess my real question wasn't so much about redline and rpm capability as it was about using a numerically lower gear to make better use of the nitrous power.
Thoughts on that?
I've also heard that's its better to have the numerically higher gear behind the t56 to get more wheel speed off the line. My car always worked well with he 4.11's before, just debating the 3.89s.
blue99fbody, love the car man! I've watched some videos of it and followed the car a bit. Guys like you are why I've always been a diehard stickshift guy and glad to be going back to one. Can't wait to have overdrive again as well!

Id def recommend the 3.89 or 4.11. Im also debating this change as I have 3.70's right now and on motor I trap 122 at 7100 in 3rd with 28in tires. Havent run the gas as I broke the clutch out of the hole. Im coming out of the hole at 5000 on a 2 step and with the 3.70 the car just dies, so I feel I need more gear. On paper the 3.70 are logical for a 150MPH trap and safe RPM but in real world not so much. Im looking for mid 9's so I feel the 4.11 would be the ticket.

Yeah, I hear ya! I have 3.50s in my car right now from the auto and no way they are going to work with a 6spd and 28" tires. lol I don't feel 3.70's would be much different.
I'll probably just go with the 4.11's again and if needed I can run a 29" tire which would effectively drop the 4.11's down to a 3.97 gear.

just some more info on other setup for max mph/rpm. strokes2guys racer, has 4:56s with 28et drags, and ran out of gear hitting the limiter (7K) going 132/134. it was raised to 7200 or 7400 (stock motor) and its been 135.x but thats hitting the limter a few times. going 10.2s 10.1xs, 150 n20, cam only. Going to change gears for next year. 4:30s ( I have and a spool already) but should go 4:10s. or more

I will do, it will be a few months. Most likely I'll just do the 4.11's and a 28" tire. Not sure if my 275/60 radials are gonna work. If not, I'll probably just go to a stiff sidewall ET Drag like I used to run. I hate slicks, but I want my 6spd car to work.
