Default clutch for stock flywheel

just a few days ago stock clutch started slipping. its not holding the extra power from the cam swap. anyways im on a tight tight budget and really need a clutch to work with my stock flywheel that will hold 400 hp. I was looking at spec centerforce and ram im sure there is a million threads on this im tired of searching. I cant afford a monster clutch so thats out. its my dd

I'm in the same "budget" boat. Spec stage 1 is the most affordable disc/pressure plate out there. Get your OE flywheel resurfaced, be sure to check for the correct shim, and voila! Less than $300 even with trans fluid

I noticed that just don't know how long the stage 1 will last or if its any stronger than stock.

It's made to compete with the LS7 (same with Monster Stage 1). Reach out to SPEC-01 to get detailed info.

St1 is fine. Our stage 1 is rated for much more than 400hp.. In fact, we do not rate in hp…clutches should not be rated in hp because they hold torque. They will hold more hp than tq. At 599 ft lbs it’s closer to 700 hp.dum

Flywheel torque is the ultimate determining factor for static holding power, but not many people know that number as it's not easily calculated from a chassis dyno and has no relevance when the clutch isn't fully engaged ie launching or power shifting. Every combo is different in how much torque vs hp ie a nitrous car so many things need to be taken into consideration, don't hesitate if you have any questions about a Monster. Chris, 817-750-2000
