Default Flex Plate

My car has been making a ticking/knocking noise. I brought it to the mechanic last night to get it looked at he told me the flex plate could be cracked or the bolts could be loose. Which i am happy it was that i thought i had a lifter or rod bearing go out. But he said my motor sounded to good and the oil pressure was normal. What do you guys think? How hard would it be to replace that?

Quite possible. The transmission needs to be backed off the engine.

Go with an aftermarket SFI flexplate. B&M's 20340 is a very nice and cost effective flexplate. And get ARP crank & flexplate bolts.

I am happy it is this though. I was scared the whole motor was going to have to come out and that would be pricy. You think i just replace the flexplate and torque converter when im down there?

Unless you have other performance mods like a cam, there's no reason to swap the converter.

Where are you located?

It could also be injector noise. Can you figure out where the noise is coming from. High or low? From engine bay or from under car? How many miles?

Does the noise change when you drive the car and put a load on it? I have seen a flexplate crack between the holes around it with only having one section of the flexplate not broken and it made a rattling sound when you let off the gas and got back on the gas.

You can remove the plate covering the viewing hole and take a look at it.
