Default TR6060 vs T56 case

The place building my transmission doesn't want to drill my T56 case for a fluid sprayer set-up because it is too thin (and is against welding the inside to build up extra material) so they advise I use a TR6060 case instead. The TR6060 has a boss in the casting which they will drill and tap.

My questions is, can a TR6060 case be used as a direct replacement for a T56 case? Can it be used with a T56 tailhousing and T56 bell housing while still maintaining the same shifter position and ability to use the same length driveshaft?

I was under the impression that the two cases are different sizes and this wont work. Can anyone tell me if this is possible?
