Default McLeod RXT users... what MC you using?

I know McLeod says to use the stock hydraulics with their twin discs, but I'm curious what people are actually doing.

I bought a complete 6spd swap from my buddy and he was using a Tick adjustable, but I didn't get it as part of the deal because I already had a drill mod LS6 MC in the car.

I've got about 1000 miles on the setup now and finally going WOT. The pedal has been pretty soft and I think the engagement point has been fluctuating a bit. Yesterday I missed 2nd gear a few times and it seems to be slightly grinding going into 3rd at times.

Not sure what to think, but my MC is pretty old and was questionable when I had my previous T56 in the car (back in '08). On my last pass near my house yesterday I missed second again and then the clutch pedal was stuck up and locked... the damn line somehow came out of the slave cylinder at the quick disconnect. I have no idea why since I've put alot of street miles on it with no issues and I even checked it a few times since installation to ensure it was tight. Hmmm....

I'm probably going to replace the MC no matter what, just debating a LS6 one or a Tick one.

Thanks for any feedback!

I would go ahead and get a tick. Mcleod says that to cover their *** because if you adjust the tick m/c too far you will push too much fluid and risk damaging the pressure plate. If you follow ticks recommendation for their m/c adjustment you'll be just fine. I plan on using the tick with my rst very soon

I run the Tick master with my RXT....works great. As said above, don't be an idiot adjusting it and you'll be fine.

No offense but why whigham? All a tick does is push more fluid than a stock mc due to the fact it has a larger bore which moves the slave further. If adjusted too far out it will push too much fluid, over extend the PP and ruin it. However that's no different than any other clutch setup.... The v6 pressure plate just has a softer load rating around 1900 lbs iirc and 10" diaphram so its easier to disengage, again though if the tick is adjusted properly like it NEEDS to be with any new clutch setup then there should be no issue with over extension.

Many people use the tick with that setup and have no issues with it when adjusted properly, even tick recommends it as a package with the rxt. I spoke with someone at mcleod a while back asking and they stated that as long as the mc is adjusted properly there's no issue they just warn to use the stock mc as a tick isnt needed and the stock one will not over extend the PP.

I guess more what I meant was there's a GREATER risk of accidentally screwing up and screwing up the clutch.

I myself ran a Tick master in the past, and if I ever go back to a single disk you bet your bottom dollar that'll be a purchase I make again.

I'd just hate to see someone trying to adjust it and get it right and kill the pressure plate.
