Default Aluminum Flywheel insert question

Hey guys I bought my car with a fidanza flywheel in it and just had the trans out to do the clutch and install a new friction plate. I noticed that the old friction plate on the flywheel was just SLIGHTLY taller than the aluminum portion we're talking maybe 1/32 to 1/64 of an inch. Upon bolting the new friction plate to the flywheel is was more or less the same. Its been working fine so i assume thats normal to have a slight difference but just wondering if anyone else noticed this on their aluminum flywheels? You can't resurface the frictions so I assume thats how they're supposed to be and with the difference in metal compositions I suppose its normal

yes its fine. gm flywheel have a slight tolerance. I asked fidanza this and they assured me its how their flywheels come. the engagement point will just be slightly lower
