Default Flywheel for LS7 clutch??? Yes - I searched...

My car is a 99ss with recently built & installed 416 stroker. I have a serious clutch chatter problem so I decided to throw a new LS7 clutch in it. Being it's a street car that will not see sticky tires I want the smooth engagement and light pedal these clutches are known for.

Anyways, without doing any research I bought the clutch today and dropped the trans only to find my flywheel may not be compatible. Looks like I need a flywheel with raised mounting points for the pressure plate as opposed to my flywheel which is completely flat across the PP mounting & engagement surface.

Now I've started doing some research and keep finding the part number for a flywheel members of this site have used with the LS7 clutch (12571611) but every picture I can find of it appear to be a flat flywheel like the one I already have.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? What part number flywheel should I be looking for...or am I mistaken and my "flat" flywheel will somehow work?

You have to crush a beer can and put it BEHIND the flywheel.

No need for shims either. The pull tabs work great for that behind the slave.

LS7 clutch needs a LS2/LS7 style stepped flywheel.

My point was 10 seconds on google or getting on the horn with a vendor would have solved your question...
