Default Clutch Master Cylinder Rod

I am not sure if this is a problem or not, but I went to install my new master from GM and when I was installing it the rod seemed to come out of the master further that it was when I received it? I tried to get the rod pushed back in but it would not go! I did not proceed with the install because I wanted to make sure it would be okay before I installed it. Never seen this before and are not vey familiar with hydraulic clutches! Thanks for the help!!
