Default Mobil 1 or synchromesh

ok I know this has been beat to death but I can not make my mind up. I have a built MN12 in a c5z, live in Houston, roll race and want to get into autocross, built 402 on 8LBS. I am leaning more towards the synchromesh because of the abuse it will take but i have read mixed reviews on this stuff. On the other hand I have not found anything bad about mobil 1. Any first hand experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I wouldnt use mobil 1. Synchromesh isnt bad but for the couple bucks extra Redline d4 is the best imo. I havent tried amsoil but I know its top notch also

Why redline? Did you use it with success in both of your 6 speeds?

yes... It has awesome reviews everywhere in the t56. I tried synchromesh, castrol, mobil, and redline out of all 4 redline was the best. It completely alleviated the notchiness when cold and was smoother all around than the others. syncromesh was good also but was a little notchy when cold

For more interesting read to all things regarding oil, google "bobistheoilguy.com".

Redline is 100% not "Full Synthetic Blend" as the others.

I get all my priced right Redline products, along with Free Super Saving to my door from Amazon.

Synchromesh here. As stated it can by notchy when cold but you shouldn't be powershifting a cold engine anyway. Never tried Redline though...

Why not Mobil 1? It seems to be working okay for me so far but it definitely takes time to heat up on cold days. It's the synthetic stuff (I think?) whatever was recommended.

nothing wrong with mobil 1 but I'd hate paying that price for something that technically isnt a "pure synthetic" also when I tried mobil 1 it was incredibly notchy when cold. synchromesh was pretty good (better than mobil) but when i tried redline everything changed. Not to say its some miracle fluid that makes the trans shift like a honda but it does elimiate 85-90% of cold notchy feelings and when completely warm shifts just as good if not better than any other fluid i tried

I might try that then, especially since winter is coming...the notchiness does get old.

Thanks guys, I went with redline but I won't be able to report back for a little bit. I am trying to wire up a c5 with the holley dominator and keep all of the stock gauges and traction control. I will let you know how she ***** when I get it all back together.

I ordered some Redline D4 today and am going to put it in this weekend possibly. The notchiness of the Mobil-One got too old with it getting colder here, and also my second gear is giving me fits at the track when I try to power shift it.
