Default Questions for guys using 2 step as a "no lift shift"

I'll keep the questions short and sweet

1. Does it work? If so how well?
2. When you shift is there pressure on the shifter when shifting, or does it slide right in to the next gear?
3. How much time does it knock off?
4. Do you keep the 2 step rpm set at what you launch at or do you have the rpm set to the rpm you're at after you complete the shift?

If this just sounds completely ridiculous then let me know. Since my last 11.5 pass I've dropped about $5k in suspension and lightweight mods, lost a few hundred pounds, and gained probably 15hp. If this doesnt get me to 10.9 then I'm considering this "no lift shift" idea

Also wondering this. I NLS in my cobalt all the time but it's designed for it. How many people NLS?

No idea how many people do it. I just remember reading a thread months ago where some guys said they were using a 2 step to do it. If it cuts at least 2 tenths off and isnt horrible for the transmission then I'm willing to give it a try. Its hard enough trying to get a m6 in 10s, especially at my elevation.

After further research I found the answers to my first two questions. Went ahead and purchased a LNC-003. But the question of how much time it takes off and what rpm guys are setting it at is still a mystery

I know there's a pretty big difference in my cobalt but it's turbo'd and if i dont NLS, I loose boost every time I shift. I don't think the difference would be quite as big on an NA car but It would still be noticable. .2 sounds reasonable.

You don't need a 2 step to no-lift shift.....just a good hyd system and fully releasing clutch.

I know, I just don't like how hard it is pressing on the clutch while still accelerating. When I get the lnc-003 I'm thinking about putting the first rpm limit at around 4500rpms where I normally launch, then the max rpm limit about 200 rpm past my shift light. That way when my shift light goes off I'll have a couple tenths of a second to know the rev limit is coming and by the time I shift I've hit it, which it will make depressing the clutch a little easier. Once the clutch is depressed the 4500rpm limit will take over

this is all in theory. Guess we'll find out if it works this weekend

i used to use the lnc-003 wired to the clutch pedal and just left it set at the launch rpm whenever you shift your over that so it will activate and cut spark/tq/n20 and allow an easier shift. worked well for me it sounded slow between gears but numbers didnt show it. i just use the two step in the holley dominator now in the same manor.
