Default Monster Clutch Co. Aluminum Flywheel

So I've had a few of you guys asking about making an uber lightweight flywheel for our 11" and 12" clutches, so, we put some pen to paper and came up with this.

Rocking a total weight of an estimated 11lbs, this would be the lightest flywheel for an 11" or 12" clutch on a LSx platform we know of.

This said, who's actually interested in this? I've got the machinist working on this now, so, pricing will be available soon. I just don't want to waste my time on this for a whopping 8 people.

its probably something that will have to get made and then people will buy it if its an option when they need a new flywheel. Im waiting to try my brothers monster stage 3 and 18lb flywheel. Then when i upgrade its either the 18lb or this if its available.

Haha Steve looks like HioSSilver is finally getting his way with you

I have the 18lb billet and love it. If you offered this 11lb when I purchased my Stage 3 kit I probably would have got it.

I would have purchased this with my stage 3 instead of the 18lb. I do prefer all steel but this would be nice. Want to trade? I can help your machinist. I can set up mill-turn machining centers really well.

I will be in the market for a product like this next summer. After using lightweight flywheels, I will NEVER go back to anything over 15lbs on a v8.

I just purchased a level 2 with 18lbs fly .... I would upgrade if you let me ... still in the box (boy is it pretty!) .... question tho ... what happens when you take all the weight and mass out of this plate .... doesnt the disk heat up faster and possibly warp easier??

We haven't officially started producing theses flywheels yet, we wanted to get a feel for the market. As far as your question on the possibility of warping, a lightweight flywheel stores less energy and typically requires more slip to get a smooth take off, this generates more heat, and like all aluminum flywheels with steel inserts has the potential to warp.
