Default Shifter?

So not your usual shifter question..... I think

Firebird with a t56 mated to 414 making 620ish flywheelpower. Built to handle the power and has a pro 5.0 shifter on it. Not quite sure if the handle is shortened or not but it does have a t handle. I thought this whole setup was great as my daily driver was an auto until last march when i picked up a 06 gto 6 speed. It does not have the factory shifter and whatever it is makes the 5.0 feel like a sloppy long throwing mess.

According to the previous owner it is a holden performance shifter,

So my question is ...... Is there something similar that can be aquired for the bird?

The 5.0 shifter just feels awful compared to my daily driver, the GTO has a much shorter throw and a tighter overall fell. when shifting.

I know very little about the transmission in the GTO or the differences between it and the T56. Any help would be nice, i would search but i have no idea what im searching for in regards to whats actually on the GTO.

MGW is probably the closest you can get unless someone is hiding a secret shifter for the f-bodies.

The GTO may be equipped with this shifter.

Many GTO guys claim it is the best shifter there is, therefore i wouldnt doubt if a pro 5.0 felt funny after driving your GTO.

Hard to say though. just my best guess.
Next closest thing is an MGW

Thanks! That's the kinda info I was looking for.

Felt awkward speaking ill about the 5.0 as I've always heard great things, granted the build was done in the 07 range.

Now I can figure out what's on the goat and loo, into the mgw shifter

MGW is your best bet. Had a B&M ripper shifter on my gto t56 (mn12 t56) and its way too notchy..
