Default dogteeth wear on 2nd and 3rd T56 gears

Does anybody have experience at determining at what point gear replacement is necessary due to wear on dogteeth? Can these be reconditioned by sharpening?

Re working the tips is always a bad idea. It compromises the shift timing and , at best, is very short- lived "fix". You are cutting away the skin-hardened material, soft remains. Simple : don't do it, get new gears. You already have the box apart.

Might as well replace them, no transmission builder has recommended reworking the tips as a best practice, and best of luck finding an available 2nd gear.

Give them a call, but when I spoke with them a couple of weeks ago they said that was due to a glitch on their site. There are a few people on here who are selling the aftermarket ones (I've been waiting > 1 month for mine) but even Tick said the aftermarket ones have been pretty good.
