Default Mcleod Super Street Pro

Anyone have experience with this clutch? Looking for a clutch that can handle being launched on a bias ply. Car has under 400whp. Thanks.

Had horrible experience with McLeod in the past. I would look into something else. Ls7 clutch has held well for GTO guys making less than 420ish to wheels and it's a heavy car. The Ls7 clutch can be had for dirt cheap if you know where to look. I have been playing with ACT clutch as of late and both their single and twin systems do very well and are reasonably priced.

FWIW I have a McLeod Twin Disc. Very nice clutch. They have been around a long time, make a good product IMHO

I would think their Super Street Pro is also a quality clutch

Several people on this forum like Monster but I have no direct experience with their product

Yeah, in that case, the ls7 would be limited. I'd still look act if u get a chance. I'd never buy a monster clutch for my car.

I had a mcleod single years ago. I got it used and beat the **** out of it 3 years. Went 10.50 with n20 on that clutch.....not to mention hundreds of passes i ran. Drove like stock and bit hard. Currently i have a Street twin rated to 1600 hp. Drives like stock and bites like a **** also.

skip the single disc and go right into a twin disc RXT
it is designed for abusive launches on slicks

gnx7, since you track your cars:

What would you choose for a car used for HPDE/TT/autocross, the RST or RXT? Will never have more than 500hp, no dragstrip use.

RST is more tailored for autocross. RXT is for drag

There are a lot of people who are happy with the McLeod clutches, plus their customer services sounds like it's pretty good. I for one did not like the stock feel of my stock hydraulics and clutch. Aftermarket discs FTW.

79_T/A sounds like the RST is all you need at 500hp. Aluminum flywheel for sure for your intended use.

The RXT in all honesty doesn't drive much different.
