I'm currently running a ball from speeddawg but if I was go drag the car I would go with a mgw gripper ****. Kinda catchy to the palm of a hand for less chance of slippage.

I have a Hurst Pistol Grip handle. Great for speed shifting.

^^^I'm with these two guys. For the track I use a Hurst pistol grip on a short stick but for around town I like the white ball better.

I have the stock slp style **** that I should put up for sale... nothing wrong with the **** style except for when you are sitting in your car waiting to stage and someone oils down and you start sweating.. can miss a shift real easy because sweat will make hand slippery and that is why I prefer the pistol grip... lets me rip it into the next gear and no problem with hand slipping off... if I drove it on the street a lot I would prefer a normal **** also I would think

I'm running a speed dawg ball as well right now. It started rattling at high rpm's though. I'll probably switch to a twm **** soon.

The 4" competition series looks nice. I like the Hurst pistol grip as well.

i use the stock hurst/slp ****. pistol grips suck on the 2-3 your trying to guid it in instead of taking your palm and just shoving it.

I bought the composite race shift **** from MGW when I purchased my MGW shifter. It's a bad *** shift know that has grip indentations and it's composite so it's light and doesn't get hot sitting out in the sun.

I may be missing something simple here, but why does it seem like most on here prefer a lighter shift ****?

I thought a while back I saw something about them damaging the trans somehow, but I'm not finding it. Personally I would love a heavier **** with my short shifter, which is why I'm leaning twm.

My issue with anything of substantial weight is that it is typically metal...I hated my factory aluminum Mach 1 **** in the summer and winter months.

Do they make a weighted delrin ****?

That is why I got a large, round, delrin one from Gilotti, (instead of the many alloy/stainless/titanium/etc. ones) but I think that Hard Dog also makes one, as well as some other road race type companies.

If I am not mistaken, TWM had a delrin outside, solid/weighted stainless inside **** (in both round and 'ricer' cylindrical shapes) on their site.

Maybe you just don't know how to shift. I've never had a problem.

I'd look at the TWM Specter "Hybrid" Shift **** it's a heavy Stainless Steel core so it makes the shifts seem easier but isn't temperature sensitive so it won't get extremely hot or cold, and it has some height adjustability.
The only down side is the price, but Imo you won't find a better shift **** if you can get past the price.
Btw, I run TWM Type R shift **** and I like the shape and added weight better than a ball shift ****.
