A few months ago I Purchased a Spec Stage 2 and a new Tick MC directly from Tick, and to be totally honest I very much dislike it. It feels like a 60's muscle car clutch very heavy, Thinking about throwing in my Old stock Luk replacement back in. But then again that's just my 2Cents.

I have no experience with the spec clutches, but I have seen more posts expressing dissatisfaction with spec clutches than any other brand. Mostly I read the best reports on monster and McLeod.

It seems like a common theme that tick master + spec = heavy pedal. I can tell you tick master + monster S3 = somewhat heavier than stock, but definitely not "ruining the driving experience " heavy.

If you want a clutch that can handle a lot of power it drives smooth as silk, you should be looking at twin disc clutches.

For me the 2+ did not hold up (pics) more than a year. It was also not street "friendly" (chatter.

^^^^^^^THIS!

what I did and should have before trying various single disc clutches

OP, if you are going to make 600 rwhp, don't F around with a single disc clutch

the 2+, 3, etc basically any aggressive disc material clutch will hold more power over a organic material disc...but the trade off is less friendly street maners, especially in stop/go traffic. The engagement without chatter is a fine line

The McLeod Street Twin is not a cheap clutch but after installing 4 different single disc clutches over the years which initially work but by year two don't hold the power anymore and still give up street manners...I would have been $ ahead if I had gone with the Street Twin from day one once I did my 383.

Perfect street manners in any driving condition and holds PERIOD under drag use conditions. Best clutch I have ever had in the car. My kit ame with a new, larger MC made by Wilwood. Nice piece. Bought the kit from JEGS for $12xx

What about using the LS7 clutch? it's a single disc but must hold up pretty well. Not something I've used but nobody on here has brought it up yet.

An LS7 clutch is not going to last with 600rhp on spray, I'd be hesitant to use it with just the 400rwhp you have NA. Monster stage 3, or start looking at some twin disc clutches.

Agreed. Plus the LS7 is a heavy beast so it robs throttle response. I'm sort of moving into twin disc camp. I have the monster 3, and it's a good clutch, but I'm wanting a lighter clutch. When I replace it'll be a twin.

When I bought my car it had a Spec stage 2 that was on its way out. I hated that clutch. Heavy pedal feel and obviously wasn't strong enough for even the HCI build that it had. Switched to a McLeod twin disc and love it. It holds up to my nitrous with ease, and feels like stock

The twin disc is the best way to go IMO, I knew I'd be running my car at stock power for a while so I didn't make the jump, but I'll have more than one disc in the next one for sure.
