Default Is my 98 T56 worth rebuilding?

I have a 98 T56 that I am having rebuilt with a 600ftlb upgrade package. While the transmission shifted nicely in all gears, I had an occasionally notchy fifth gear. The shop tore down the transmission and indicated that there were several parts that needed to be replaced. Mostly synchronizer related stuff, 2nd and 5th gears. Total will run me just over $2,400.00 all in. Seems like a lot of money for a trans that otherwise ran fine. Keep in mind that this is a street car that for the most part, is a weekend cruiser. I may hit the track once every two years. Do you think it is worth rebuilding or should I consider sourcing a newer and/or different transmission?

Thanks.

Unless you're planning on upgrading to a magnum I'd rebuild this one, that way you know you're getting newer internals. A used trans is always a crapshoot. Was your builder able to source all of the required parts?

I think so. Didn't ask specifically but any delays will likely be due to the Cryo treatment. Just seems like a lot of cash to fix a trans that ran pretty well.
