I purchased a round ball separately for my shifter. With the ball all the way down, there is still a lot of threads showing. I'd suggest Hinson not cut the threads so far down the handle.

Doesn't your shiftier boot cover them up?

There's nothing to hold the boot up in place, so they're still visible.

I have the same problem with my MGW, not sure there's a real 'fix' for it TBH. You get used to it, doesn't bother me honestly. ***** will likely be threaded differently/longer/shorter.

This shifter looks interesting. I haven't raced my car in a while, but if I get back into the habit of going to the track I wouldn't mind trying it out over my MGW...

I would just put an aluminum, or plastic spacer resting on that 'step' in the shifter handle that was supposed to be the boot support (I guess?).

piece of rubber tubing around the stick will hold any boot up.

It's been a few weeks since I got the Hinson installed (non-offset version). I was hoping I would get more used to the position of the shifter but I ultimately feel it's about an inch too far to the right. A friend of mine made me a spacer which I will look to put in this weekend.

Overall, the shift feel is very good and I have no concerns with the ability to quickly move through the gears. The confidence knowing what gear the shifter will be going in makes you able to shift quicker (at least for me it does). I'm hoping adding the spacer will not negatively affect how it works.

Also, since the base of the shifter stalk is decently thick, my shifter boot is a perfect fit and is tucked up perfectly against the bottom of the shift ****.

I have always just used a zip tie to hold the boot up. Works fine

Put my new shifter in my GTA. My only complaint is the length of the handle. It's quite a bit shorter than the MGW in my 01. Not a big deal, but I don't like it that short so I'll lengthen it. Just something for buyers to be aware of though.
