Default T56 problems

hello all I recently purchased a 1998 trans am with the t56 6spd I have noticed when im going through the grears at high rpms there is a grind going into 4th and 5th gear but every other gear is perfect, it seems like if I drive it nice 4th engages ok and if im right around 2200 rpms 5th is ok to anybody have any advice what could be causing this? thank you!

That's what I was kind of thinking after my research but it seemed like everyone who had bad synchros said it was in either 1&2, or 3&4, or 5&6 I know the basics of a manual trans but that's about it would it, so my question is would it be possible to have 1 synchro go bad in 4&5 gear rather then the ones listed above, sorry for my lack of knowledge im still learning ! thanks for the quick reply!

It may be from someone using the wrong trans fluid, I am not sure about the 1 synchro 4/5, 3/4 are probably different than 5/6

Anything can go bad, so no reason why not. Or it could be a bigger issue. Oil change is always worth a try though before taking it apart.
