If you are just doing bolt ons and/or heads and cam (depending on how much power the cam and heads add), the consensus seems to be that a ls1/ls6 clutch that is a bit more durable than stock (like a luk pro gold or level 1 monster single plate) will work just fine.

Right on, that's exactly why i'm looking at this clutch. Not worried about losing a little bit of power as long as it's a good clutch that wont break the bank. I'm going to hold off for another week or so and watch your thread for feed back. Didnt mean to hi-jack it there at the end, my bad.

I have had a LS7 clutch in my car for the last 8-9 years and 40k miles so far. I was bolt ons for the first 3yrs then H/C/I since 2010 making 460/424 to the ground. Those power numbers are through a 9" also. I drive the car like it owes me money every time I'm in it and have dozens of 6k clutch dumps on it at the track on Hoosier qtp's and drag radials. Hasn't let me down once. I've cut 1.6's short times and have only been locked out of the next gear less than 5 times over all this time. It's been a great clutch and has handled everything I've thrown at it. It's tired for sure, but just keeps gripping. I'm gonna run a full slick and 4.30's this year at the track so it may be the end of the line but I'm gonna see what it'll do before I rip it out.

About 300 miles and everything works perfectly. Did one fast pull from 2nd to 4th after a car show and no slippage whatsoever. Fluid is a little dirty in the reservoir but that's expected I believe.

It's been fantastic. Same general feel and engagement as stock clutch, noticeably heavier but it's manageable. Can handle the power really well. The pressure plate really clamps down with a **** load of force.
