Default What to do, slave cylinder release clip broke

Like the title says, went to pull the slave and theres no white plastic release clip on the connection. No idea how something like that happened but it did. Motor and trans are out of the car so I have plenty of room to play with it, got my hand up in there and unbolted the slave from the trans to drop it, wasn't fun . Has anyone been faced with this situation before and what did you have to do to get this thing released? I know theres like 10 prongs in there that have to be released so I'm not expecting it to be easy.

I haven't used them yet, but try Dorman 74016.

Perhaps it is time for a new slave and new MC, including a new line and quick disconnect.
