Default Dropping my transmission

I have a 1999 camaro z28 with a six speed manual transmission, and I'm going to replace the clutch soon. This will be my first time doing so, and I was wondering if anyone had a link to any threads on the subject or if anyone can give me a guide or anything really. Thank you in advance.

You really should refrain from dropping your transmission. It could cause a crack if you drop it too hard

Couple of the suggestions. Once you have the trans mount brace removed, put a jack under the front pulley and "gently" lift the front of the motor. That tips the trans back and makes it easier to the top of the trans.
The other problem is getting the hydraulic line disconnected. I have heard that using a section of oil container to slide down and release the fitting works.

Very late to this thread, apologies, but I do have another guide to dropping a trans on the site. http://installuniversity.com/ls1/ins...version-1.html
