Not sure. I've been happy with mine since I installed it back in 2005. I guess some better shifters have been developed since then.

Pro 5.0 was probably one of the first aftermarket shifters for the LS T56. I've had 4 F-bodys over the years and bought a new one for each one of them every time. In the more recent years, there has been a few new shifters available such as the MGW, Hinson, etc. and I've tried them also but always came back to my Pro 5.0 with UMI short stick. Shifters are one of those "personal" things that you really have to drive to see if its a good match for you. Whatever the brand may be, if it doesn't feel good to you and YOU can't get it into 3rd gear - its no good.

my Pro 5.0 was a good purchase. My only complaint is the bolts loosen easily and often...makes it a pain. Has that been a probem to anyone else.
Bigstick...i am going to look into that short throw from UMI sounds like a good idea
thanks

Which bolts are you talking about? At first I had to tighten the two bolts that secured the shift stick to the shifter a couple times. I just smoked the hell out of them and never had a problem since. I recently installed the UMI short stick onto my Pro 5.0 about a year ago and love it.

Becuase MGW FTW!

But no seriously. I had a mgw in mine and a buddy of mine had a pro 5.0. He sat down in mine one evening after we swapped out the clutch and such. He was amazed. Only thing he could say was WOW. I loved the mgw. The throws were really short and warm butter smooth. Maybe folks are auto swapping more now as these cars become more on the races side or either there is a lot swapping over to the mgw.
