Default MGW shifter...Can I use factory bolts?

Looking to buy a used mgw shifter and it doesn't come with the bolts to bolt it down to the trans. Can I use the bolts on my OEM shifter ( non Hurst )? Or do I neee to order them from mgw? Don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks,
DW

I'm not sure if the stock bolts would be long enough, but any hardware store./ homedepot/lowes ect should have the bolts. They are just m8x1.25. you will probably need some in the 20 mm length?

I have a brand new one in my garage with all the hardware (waiting to go in when I get the new trans). PM me if you need me to measure anything for you.

Thanks man! I was trying to text you last night and realized I lost your number. MGW told me $16 shipped for a set of bolts.

Okay, I got off work a little early today, so I took a look. They are definitely x1.25 metric threads, and M8 is probably correct. However, the length is actually 30mm. There is one lock washer and one conventional washer per bolt. Pictured is everything included with the shifter. The Allen wrench is for tightening in the shaft to the base.

Thanks for the info/pics. How long have you had that shifter? I seen the mgw comes with a couple different sticks. The one you have looks like it could easily be shortened, I hope that is what mine comes with.

*****Just looked at/ read the note in your picture, answers my question lol.

According to this post, it's 15 ft/lbs.

I emailed MGW and they would not provide a recommended torque spec for perceived liability reasons.

Good, reverse is hard to get into 95% of the time which sucks. Car is all factory 29K miles.

Mine is the same way and it never gets easier unfortunately. One thing that did help though was doing the shift detent (anti-venom) mod. Made engagement a little easier in all gears including reverse.

Personally I upgraded to the Hurst Billet Plus Shifter and I love it easy to get into all gears because its still respectfully tall enough try purchasing a little bit taller stick and I bet it will ease going all the way over to Reverse, and also did you by chance do a plug in skip shift harness? If so becaerful you might have plugged it into the reverse lock out harness I'v had that happen to me the harness runs along side of the trans and they look the same
