Question Exedy or Spec's clutch

I have a FI camaro that should make over 900rwhp when its all said and done. which clutch would be better for my application. I was thinking about getting the spec's stage 4I but then one off my friends told me about a clutch called Exedy. He told me that the clutch goes for about 1700 or so. What do you all think about this clutch and is it worth the $$$$. Thank you for your time.

The Exedy rocks, built much better than anything else I have seen for an LSx engine.. 900hp you would want the twin disk though..

Exedy's Twin Disk, or McLeods. I know McLeods is pretty much bulletproof, Exedy seems to be very good as well. I just run a Spec 3 for my lowly sub-500rwhp car, lol.

i daily drive on a spec s4 (old version) over 15k miles without issue.. have not had to put the new s4 i in the car cuz this one won't die!

it is not the hp but the tq that kills.. and mine handles over 1k on a daily basis

How does the stage 4 ceramic work as your daily driver? any chatter issues? can you slip it?

Thanks man,
Dan

i dont mind it one bit.. true it is not buttery like stock but its just a slight change in technique and you cant tell the diff. sure can slip it just not over as wide of a pedal range as before

i notice if it starts to get real grabby its when i have babied the car around a lot.. after a hard night of racing it is really smooth

I'm really considering this clutch now. It does work with stock hydrolics right? If it holds up to your TQ, then it looks like a good choice, although I don't put down near what you do, only about 450 rwhp with out the juice...Thanks David!

We deal with Exedy and SPEC clutches. The SPEC Stage 5 should handle the power you are looking for reliably. The Exedy Twin Disc is also a great choice. When it comes down to it you are looking around $475 + flywheel for the spec and $1600 with chrome moly lw flywheel on the exedy. Both are excellent choices.

We have numerous SPEC's in customers cars and sell 30+ a month. We love their product line and excellent customer service from SPEC.

If you have any questions give me a shout at 973-340-4069 I'll be happy to chat.
