Default I think I found the problem

I just found out that the stock pressure plate needs to be adjusted first before install. There is an adjustmnent plate that needs to be rotated counterclockwise with two screwdrivers at the same time the clutch fingers are slightly depressed.

I have read that the pressure plate is adjustable but I haven't heard that you need to adjust it off the shelf before you install it the first time. How do you depress the fingers and how how much do you depress them and how do you know how far to turn the screws?
