Tip for first time clutch changers (OEM)
I found out the hard way. On the OEM clucth you have to depress the pressure plate and turn the adjusting ring counterclockwise ALL the way before installing. If you don't the clutch won't engage and you will blow out your slave cylinder.
Clutch works perfect now.

I don't remember whether it was a vette or f-body clutch. You might have lucked out as there is a range of adjustment rather than an "on-off" setting. I order to get maximum engagement it has to be fully adjusted. I suspect this is the reason some people have such short lived clutches. Partial adjustment will result in engagement but not full clamping force.
