Default HELP! Bellhousing is stuck!

I've pulled the tranny and have all 8 bolts off of the bell housing but it will not come off...am I missing something?

I tried to pry it off from the bottom and the whole engine moves...whats got it stuck? Any help ASAP would be great!

I'd like to get the whole thing off tonight so I can have the flywheel resurfaced first thing in the morning!

Mine was tough too. It gets stuck on those dowels. Use a pry bar from diff sides and angles, pry gently from the oil pan if you must and hard from the starter and other things. That's what I did and it eventualy came off.

Pry with one hand and tap with a rubber malet at the same time.

They are common to be stuck on there. Dont get to forcefull with it, it is only aluminum it will distort if to much force is used.

Same thing happened to me but i couldn't get it off by prying. What I ended up doing was putting a metal plate (from a hydraulic press) on top of the pressure plate but inside the bellhousing and tightening the bellhousing bolts down to press it off. Hope that makes sense.
