Default Pro 5.0 With Short Stick

I just installed a Pro 5.0 shifter with the Speed Inc short stick and I love it. I also threw a SLP leather **** on there. I am very pleased with the feel of this shifter. It's like going from a Geo Metro to a Porsche. Many people say it's too notchy but I love it. It's almost impossible to miss a shift.

congrats. I was lucky enough to have a guy at the last cruise let me feel his 5.0 with short stick. I didn't think it was very notchy at all and I was amazed at how short the throws were. I'm totally sold on it but just have to come up with the money (currently know I'm gonna have to drop 2 grand on it in the near future... so the short throw has been postponed... o well...) congrats again!

I just put mine in last week and I missed more shifts than I ever did with the stock Hurst; it was because I wasnt use to how far it went over to the passenger side and because its kinda hard to tell the diff. between th 1-2 and the 3-4 gates

Now that I'm used to it, I ******* LOVE IT! So, so smooth and the stoppers feel like heaven when you bang 'em!

GTObsessor, whats wrong with your car? Seemed to be running pretty well at the cruise?

ive had 2 pro 5.0 shifters and loved both of them. the one i just put on a few months ago had the speed inc short shifter, i then put in the pro 5.0 angled handle and cut off an inch and it felt better than the short one by far.

A guy let you touch his short stick huh? That must have been an amazing feeling for both

just FYI,
if your 50 dosent re center from the 1-2 side to the center, you can take it apart and add a spring on the right side. dont add 2 springs, only 1 on the pass. side. I found a spring that fit inside the normal one. This will increase the presure that pops it back into the center.
before when I shifted from 2nd to 3rd I would frequently hit right in between 1 and 3 and not catch into 3rd. This happened fairly often and really made me mad. Now that I added a spring it feels so much better.

so if yours is not recentering I would highly suggest doing that it really helps the feel when DD.
PS I made a post about this before.

I have a 5.0 shifter, does anyone else's vibrate a lot when in first gear, and trying to ease the car up? Also, when your car is in neutral, and the clutch isn't pressed in, can you hear the shifter making noises, like its vibrating? Cause those are things I am experiencing with mine. I just bought the car, so I have no idea how it is supposed to feel.

I have a pro 5.0 stick on my stock hurst shifter, and its cut 2 inches. I like it a lot, and I'm 5'11. I might be happier if it was an inch shorter, but that would be the lowest.

hey guys i have a quick question for ya, i just got the pro 5.0 with the lou's short stick on my 02 ws6 and love it, the shifter goes right into gear and its great, the only question i have it that when im in a gear,(any gear) while driving, i can move the shifter like a 1/2 or so up and down while its in gear before it stops, like almost a feeling that the sifter is loose or soemthing, but idk if that is normal and now that i think of it i cant remember if my hurst short throw did it also or not. is this normal or do u think something is loose? thanks guys.

Mine did the exact same thing the other day while I was driving, turned out to be that the stick was getting a little loose. Now, when I push the shifter against the stoppers, it stays there and doesnt move

Maybe you should use some Loc-tite.

I was thinking of getting a Pro 5.0, is it worth the money. I still have the stock hurst.

The Pro 5.0 is definitely worth the money. I haven't had any other shifter besides the stock one so I can only vouch for the Pro 5.0, but I love it. I used Loc-Tite on the shifter bolts also. When I took the stock shifter out I notice most of the bolts were loose.

'02 WS6, yeah right after i wrote the post i was driving it and realized that it was the short stick getting loose, when i could wiggle it each way a little bit, i knew thats what it was, put some loctite on it and tightened her down nice and tight, thanks for the help.
