Default Chattering Question

I replaced my stock clutch on my 01 z28 about 5-6000 miles ago. When I did it I replaced the pilot bearing, flywheel, and had the Ram Powergrip stage II set up balanced with the flywheel at the machine shop. If I rev the car and kinda ride the clutch out it is ok. If I try to ease the clutch out for a smooth take off it chatters and sometimes bucks at me. Is this normal? I have a mild, tuned cam in the car. It grips fine, but the take off from first, especially with air on is killer. I have to rev higher than normal to take off smooth.

If that's normal, that sucks big time for a daily driver. Pretty much ruins the car in my opinion.

Anybody out here try the Clutchmasters unit?

If I ride the clutch a little with higher rpm it is good. Tends to be a pain in the **** during traffic jams. I am hoping I am not riding it to much and burn the friction plate early.

I have a 2002 SS Convertable with the stock clutch,14k Miles and have a serious Chatter issue in traffic after it gets warmed up. Hammer it and its not noticeable, try and ease her out into 1st from a stop and it'll shale the sunglasses off your face.

I'm thinking on a Spec Stage 1 as recomended by the local shop.

Thoughts?
Thanks.

Has anything been replaced in the clutch area? At 14k that is a big problem. Something isn't right. Get it checked out before it costs you to much money.

Thats what I thought too. Dealer wants $480 to just look at it. They give the impression they are Not going to go to bat for me/my clutch with Chev so why pay for a stock clutch ($1000) I'm dissapointed the clutch was delivered with this chatter issue and that it got undrivable three days past the warranty 36mo. Should have bitched about it from day one like every second person does I guess.

Nothing can fix the fact I bought three new chevys from the same dealer the same week three years ago and they tell me to get my check-book out when the clutch screws up after 14K. This car was never thrashed or even in for any repairs, garage kept...

I'll have a Stage I put in with a new pilot and throwout. I hope that fixes it. Aparently chevrolet never covers this "wearable part" even when under warranty.

I guess when they get a bad clutch, blame the driver and be done with it, how is someone supposed to argue that you didn't sit there at a light slipping the clutch for fun.
