Default ZR1 tranny on a 4th gen LS1 Fbody?

Will a ZR1 tranny fit on a 4th gen LS1 Fbody? If not is there any way to fit it?

FWIW, the S6-40 ZF trans used in the ZR-1's was the same as that used on the LT1 vettes. The early versions (pre-1994 IIRC) were rated at 450 ft-lbs tq, while the latter were rated at 410 ft-lb tq. Since the T56 in the F-bodies is rated at 450 ft-lb, why not just use it instead?

**disclaimer: this is from memory so please don't quote me on the specs...

BTW, Bill Boudreau at ZR51 performance ( www.zfdoc.com ) is THE man when it comes to the ZF trannies. If you have some tech questions I would certainly give him a call.
