how to waste 500 dollars
first you buy a centerforce dual clutch, then when it arrives you take apart your drivetrain and drop the tranny, then you, being an idiot, forgets to put the clutch alignment pin in the fly wheel when you proceed to install, and the clutch plate falls 6 feet to the concrete and gets a dent on the lip.
i cried for 10 minutes
but besides all that, the bend is on the lip where it was bare metal, not pad, and its less than an inch in size. a freind of mine suggested that i could take a ballping hammer and tap the dent back down flush and it shouldnt be a problem, is it worth dropping the whole drivetrain again to find out? (I reinstalled the old clutch and pressure plate that were slipping) Should I just buy a whole new kit?

I would first contact the business you bought it from as they should be able to tell you for sure if it is a problem or not - you may want to give Centerforce a call as well if they automatically say there won't be a problem - and be prepared to show both a photo if possible so they can make the call. If it will be a problem, it is quite possible that they may actually offer you a new replacement one depending on how understanding they are of what happened - or offer you a replacement at a substantially discounted price - or by contacting the seller first, they may even be willing to tell Centerforce that it must have been damaged in shipment and get you a replacement that way. Good luck either way!

I recommend telling your story to the dealer and seeing what they can do for you. The other (just as good option) is to use the ball peen hammer and then take it to be balanced.

i contacted centerforce and sent pictures of the damage, they are going to look at it and see if can be fixed, if not, might be able to get a different clutch plate for cheaper.
