Default Driveline noise ?

When coming to a stop in city driving I push in the clutch and put it in neutral. While rolling I hear a faint clunking type sound coming from behind me. It does not do it all the time, and if I leave it in gear untill I get close to stopping i do not hear anything at all. Any ideas what the noise could be. I was thinking maybe the backing plate bolts on the rear?

My car has done that since it was brand new.

No clue, nothing has broken, and the car drives fine.

The stock Torsen T2? diffs in our cars do make a slight "marbles in a coffee can" type sound on coastdown occasionally. Could this be what you're hearing?
